I woke up remembering a great night going out, first to Pepe’s Bar, a Spanish place which Patricia later referred to as “that Fellini place” because everybody in there looked weird and we went dancing in the Marriot Club where I was jealous at every man who even looked at her.
YES, I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW!
I bought flowers for the restaurant that morning and was arranging them when Patricia came in the door seeing me being busy with the flowers, she looked like she was sizing me up: “So.... he is not a good dancer, he speaks English probably learned from gangster movies, but he does his own flowers and he sure can cook. Later she told her sister: “he-does-his-own-flowers!”
SO WE HAD A DATE AND I TOOK HER FOR LUNCH AND I LOVED GOING OUT WITH THIS AMERICAN LADY
She told me about America, about her 2 sisters and 4 brothers, about being a swim champion of the State of Maryland, about her father who teached her how to fight: “always go for the nose”, about her sister Anne who was a gymnastics champion, that she worked in a shop close to the White House before and that she was divorcing and living in Saudi Arabia and had 2 daughters 7 and 9 years old, that she met Charles Bronson, and about driving her Ford Mustang through the storefront of Restaurant Seibels in Burtonsville Maryland but no one was hurt and that she was at Woodstock because she was a hippy and saw Jimy Hendrix.
After lunch we walked through the busy Leidsestraat where she grabbed my hand so we walked holding hands, I felt like a million bucks and imagined that a whole lot of people passing by could see how happy I was.
To be continued….
